Soya Chunks (DRY)





Soya Chunks are an excellent source of vegan protein and are also cheaper than other protein sources available in the market. Dry soya chunks can be eaten along with chapati or as a starter and can help us to fulfill our protein requirements for the day.

The above macros are with regard to 100 g of dry soya chunks.


Ingredients:
  1. 100 g of dry soya chunks.
  2. 2 medium sized onions
  3. 1 tomato
  4. 1 slit green chilly
  5. Ginger-Garlic Paste
  6. Oil (Preferably Olive Oil)
  7. Dry Spices
Procedure:
  1. Heat some water in a vessel and continue heating it till it starts to boil.
  2. Now add 100 g of dried soya chunks in the water and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Make sure to fully submerge the chunks in the water.
  3. In the mean time heat some oil in the cooking pan and add slit green chilly along with ginger-garlic paste. Saute this for about a minute.
  4. Now add onions to the pan and saute it for about 2-3 minutes. 
  5. Now add finely chopped tomatoes and cook it for 2 more minutes while you add salt, red-chilly powder, garam masala and chaat masala to the pan. 
  6. Stir the mixture well so that it does not burn.
  7. Now completely drain off the water from the soya chunks that were soaking in the hot water and add them in the pan
  8. Cook the soya chunks in the pan for about 4-5 minutes on a low flame and garnish them with some finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Your soya chunks are ready, serve fresh.
