White Sauce Pasta

White Sauce Pasta is a famous Italian recipe and is best served with red wine and garlic bread. Here we are going to look at how to make a healthier version of the recipe.

Ingredients

  1. Whole Wheat Pasta
  2. Whole Wheat (1 tbsp)
  3. Butter (1 tbsp)
  4. Full Fat Milk
  5. Clove
  6. Bayleaf
  7. Brocolli
Procedure

  1. In a pan (preferably non-stick) add about a tablespoon of butter and heat it till it melts completely.
  2. Now add a tablespoon of whole wheat and start adding the milk slowly. Keep whisking so that the sauce doesn't end up burning.
  3. Now add an onion, a bay leaf and a clove to the sauce so that the sauce gets a good mix of flavours.
  4. Keep cooking the sauce on a low flame and stir it continuously so that it doesn't start burning.
  5.  Cook the sauce till it thickens.
  6. In the meantime cook the pasta and broccoli. Add broccoli and pasta in ample amount of water along with a few drops of oil and boil it on high flame for about 10 minutes.
  7. Drain the excess water and add the pasta and broccoli mixture to the sauce which by now would be done. Cook the pasta for about 2-3 minutes more.
  8. Top with some olives and serve hot.
