White Sauce Pasta is a famous Italian recipe and is best served with red wine and garlic bread. Here we are going to look at how to make a healthier version of the recipe.
Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Pasta
- Whole Wheat (1 tbsp)
- Butter (1 tbsp)
- Full Fat Milk
- Clove
- Bayleaf
- Brocolli
- In a pan (preferably non-stick) add about a tablespoon of butter and heat it till it melts completely.
- Now add a tablespoon of whole wheat and start adding the milk slowly. Keep whisking so that the sauce doesn't end up burning.
- Now add an onion, a bay leaf and a clove to the sauce so that the sauce gets a good mix of flavours.
- Keep cooking the sauce on a low flame and stir it continuously so that it doesn't start burning.
- Cook the sauce till it thickens.
- In the meantime cook the pasta and broccoli. Add broccoli and pasta in ample amount of water along with a few drops of oil and boil it on high flame for about 10 minutes.
- Drain the excess water and add the pasta and broccoli mixture to the sauce which by now would be done. Cook the pasta for about 2-3 minutes more.
- Top with some olives and serve hot.
